We are offering a series of workshops on different subjects related to starting/running a small business led by SCORE volunteers, the nation’s largest network of expert business mentors. In this workshop, join Nina Murrell for an overview of the design and construction process.
Nina provides a start-to-finish overview of the design and construction process and how to optimize that process to enhance your business plan and set you up for success in your new location. She will focus on purpose, performance, people, preparation and how the project will progressively impact and update your business plan. Included are:
- Financial and cultural objectives and aspirations of the project
- Challenges, opportunities, strengths, weaknesses before, during and after the project
- Key decision makers and stakeholders for your project and organizational lines of accountability
- Buffer for unknowns during the process and backup business plans
Nina Murrell is a registered Texas architect with nearly 30 years of experience with commercial, institutional, and residential clients, Nina has a passion for teaching newcomers to the design and construction process how to launch and succeed in developing new or expanded bricks and mortar locations. Her projects have ranged from small lease space fit-outs for yoga and martial arts studios, breweries, restaurants, and retail shops to new luxury RV resorts and dog boarding / training facilities to renovations to create acclaimed museums / galleries and music / event venues.
