Board Books for Babies is a very successful program at our library. It is funded by Friends of the Pflugerville Library.

Friends of the Pflugerville Library are expanding the program by funding this outreach event that will take place at the Sun Academy in North Austin.

Vietnamese families with babies 3 to 18 months may register to participate in a series of two sessions.  Both sessions will include a baby time storytime in English & Vietnamese where parents and babies will enjoy reading and participating in activities together. Materials to promote early literacy at home and a goody bag including 2 of the books read during the program, toys and snacks will be given to those who register.

  • The first session will be on Sunday, 12/11 at 1:00 and 2:00 PM at the Sun Academy in North Austin. Pick your favorite time to attend. The 1:00 PM content will be repeated at 2:00 PM.  Due to space limitations, this session will be split into two smaller groups. Those who attend will be asked to fill out an assessment providing information about the early skills that their babies already demonstrate.
     
  • The second session will be on Sunday, 2/23 at 1:00 and 2:00 PM at the Sun Academy in North Austin.  Pick your favorite time to attend. The 1:00 PM content will be repeated at 2:00 PM.  Due to space limitations, this session will be split into two smaller groups. Those who attend will be asked to fill out an assessment providing information about the progress their baby has had since the first session. 

Important Notes
This program will be presented in a bilingual Vietnamese and English format.  Books and materials handed out will be in Vietnamese and/or English.
Registrants agree to attend both sessions and to complete the assessment forms.
