Program Description

Event Details

DiversiTeen Book Club meets once a month at the library to talk about great YA books. Teens ages 12-18 are welcome to join and can choose to participate in-person or via Zoom. Each month, we discuss a different book, with a free copy of the book provided by the library in advance while supplies last.
New members should register if they would like to attend via Zoom and/or to receive a free copy of the book while supplies last. Existing or returning book club members do not need to register and walk-in attendees are also welcome at meetings. You must be 12-18 years to attend this program.
For more information, email Melissa Grzybowski at melissag@pflugervilletx.gov.

This month's book: 21 Proms by 21 Authors

Synopsis:

21 Proms. 21 ways to go wrong. When it's prom night, nothing ever goes the way it's planned. Whether it's the girl whose date turns out to be more of a frog than a prince. Or the guy who wants to get up the courage to say "I love you"... to his best friend's date. Or the girl who decides to plan a backwards prom- a morp-to protest the silliness of the regular prom. Or the girl who wants a picture-perfect night... no matter what. Here are the stories of 21 proms, written by some of the best, funniest writers today: Jodi Lynn Anderson, Holly Black, Libba Bray, Rachel Cohn, Elizabeth Craft, Melissa de la Cruz, Daniel Ehrenhaft, Aimee Friedman, John Green, Brent Hartinger, Will Leitch, David Levithan, E. Lockhart, Leslie Margolis, Billy Merrell, Sarah Mlynowski, Lisa Ann Sandell, Ned Vizzini, Cecily von Ziegesar, Adrienne Maria, Vrettos, and Jacqueline Woodson.
